Needing Assistance or Wanting to Make an Appointment?

To provide basic needs assistance with dignity and compassion to our neighbors in need through a cooperative community effort.

Who We Are

Broken Arrow Neighbors (BAN) is a comprehensive community resource center in the heart of the Rose District that provides basic needs emergency assistance to more than 28,000 financially disadvantaged people in the Broken Arrow and Coweta areas. BAN was created in 1983 through a group of local church congregations who recognized there was a need to feed the hungry in our community.

We recognize that each individual or family represents a unique set of circumstances. We structure our services to help each client we serve regain, or maintain their desired level of self-sufficiency.

Our staff and volunteers, along with many incredible community partners and donors, focus our efforts to ensure that BAN continues to provide food, financial assistance (limited), job mentorship and many other services to our neighbors in need through our mission of “assistance with dignity”.

BAN and our Carbon Footprint

Prior to the implementation of Neighborhood Curbside pickup, our food waste was over 40%. With client appointments, partnerships in the community, and working with the City of Broken Arrow on composting, food waste is now less than 3%.

BAN is committed to replace 100% of our cargo vans with electric cargo vans in 2023, made possible with a grant from the OK Department of Commerce. We will use these vans to pick up from our 26 Feeding America partners 52 times each week, helping us feed our neighbors in need.

In April 2023, BAN was recognized at the White House briefing and press release of their Electric Vehicle Acceleration Challenge for our efforts in transitioning to electric transit vans. Looking toward the future, BAN will be investing in other technologies to become even more carbon neutral.
