Need a Thanksgiving meal for your family or does children (15 and younger) need gifts for the holidays? We are happy to help!
Our Thanksgiving Distribution includes a frozen holiday meat (turkey, ham, or salmon), everything needed to cook your own Thanksgiving meal for your family including: mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, greenbean casserole, and a dessert. We will need the all adult’s photo ID, proof of residence, and a copy of the monthly household income amount. For the kids, we just need a document with their name and date of birth like a birth certificate, immunization records, or school enrollment form.
The Holiday Gift Distribution is open to any child 15 and younger in Broken Arrow, Coweta or enrolled in BAPS. Each child will get to ask for something they want, something they need, and something they like to read. While we encourage variety in each gift, we do tell each sponsor that each child cost about $125-$175. We will need the head of household’s photo ID, proof of residence, and a copy of the monthly household income amount. For the kids, we just need a document with their name and date of birth like a birth certificate, immunization records, or school enrollment form.

If you would like to create some holiday magic this year, sign-up to sponsor a child below. Help give a child a gift that they actually, something they need, and give the gift of reading with their favorite book. On average, it takes about $125-$175 to sponsor a child.

Joy for Your Neighbors is all things holidays here at Broken Arrow Neighbors!
One of the sponsorship opportunities every holiday season is sponsoring a child’s Want, Need & Read. Holiday gift distribution is a special part of the Joy program for children aged 15 and under. You can sign up to sponsor a child(ren) and help create holiday magic for a family this season!
What is Wants, Needs & Reads?
Requested items are submitted on the Holiday Shopping List, which is filled out by each child/guardian. The list is separated into three categories: Wants, Needs, and Reads. Does the child want a certain toy? Do they need a new pair of shoes, a coat, or a bed? Finally, at BAN, we believe that every child deserves to have a book to call their own.
How does sponsorship work?
First step, submit the sponsorship form! After submitting the form, our Joy Coordinator will send an e-mail to verify your information and give you more details on when you will receive the Holiday Shopping List(s) and when gifts are due back at BAN.
All families remain anonymous, and we ask that all gifts be delivered to BAN unwrapped so each guardian can craft their family’s unique holiday wonder.
I don’t think sponsoring a child is for me, but I still want to give. What other opportunities are available?
There are a variety of ways to give and be involved in the holidays at BAN:
1. Consider donating some gifting essentials! Batteries (AA or AAA), wrapping paper, and tape are also distributed to families who sign up for Joy Holiday Gifts. We only ask that items that are donated are unused and unopened from their original packaging.
2. We also accept monetary donations! If you know you will be unable to shop for a child’s Want, Need & Read, you can donate funds allocated to the Joy Gift Program, allowing BAN to shop on your behalf. Every bit helps! Reach out to our Joy Coordinator to learn more at holidays@baneighbors.org.
3. Spread the word! Interact with Joy for your Neighbors posts on Instagram and Facebook, and share information about Joy within your social network.

Broken Arrow Neighbors’ Shop with Broken Arrow is a special, additional opportunity for children randomly selected from those registered in the Joy holiday assistance program. They can shop with their designated sponsor for gifts to give to their siblings and family, and they may even get something for themselves!
If your child is interested and has not participated before, please let us know!
